Water Pressure Requirements

All toilets need water pressure. All fixtures are tested to a minimum ANSI standard pressure of 20 psi; however, HET pressure-assist toilets require 25 psi.

How do I check my water pressure?

To verify sufficent water pressure you will need a large bucket (at least one gallon) and a watch or clock with a "second" hand.

  1. Close the water supply valve and disconnect the water supply line from the toilet.
  2. Place the end of the water supply line into a large bucket.
  3. Completely open the supply line for 30 seconds and then quickly close it.
  4. Measure the amount of water in the bucket. If you have one gallon or more, you have sufficient water pressure.
